O Rei do Côco (The king of Côco) – ’15 - documentary by João Marcelo Ferraz - 2007
Sebastião Grosso is the ‘king of côco’ in Goiana, Pernambuco. Every day Sebastião sells potatoes in the streets but on the day of São João, he opens his doors for one of the biggest parties in town: o côco dance night. Grosso died some weeks after the documentary was made.

Darluz – ’15 by Leandro Goddinho 2009
Darluz is a woman who represents many Brazilian women. She is poor, has no education and can’t take care of her children. Darluz literally means ‘give light’ or ‘give birth’. “I gave José, I gave Antonio, I gave Maria. I gave and I will give, but I can’t care fort hem…”

O Campim (The little Square) – ’18 – documentary by Jefferson Oliveiro & Eduardo Dorneles
A story behind a little square in one of the biggest favelas in Rio de Janeiro. Once a garbage dump, the square is now used as a central point where the residents of the favela meet for social activities.

Até Onde a Vista Alcança (As far as the Eye can See) – ’20 – documentary by Felipe Peres Calheiros - 2007
The inhabitants of the Sambaquim and Riachão Quilombo’s (ex-slave settlements) come together and gather their efforts in order to achieve a colletive dream, they want to visit the sea they’ve never seen before. The sea from where their ancestors came…
