Pietie, Hope, and Rollie are not your typical South African wine workers. These transgender wine workers confront prejudice at every turn, from their own farming communities, from city transgenders and the world at large. The Sisterhood manages to find the fabulous in the fraught and offer a portrait of triumph in togetherness rather than loneliness in victimization.
Roger Horn began his film career in 1998 as an actor. In 2006 he moved to Cape Town, South Africa to produce and direct films and television programs, primarily documentaries. The Sisterhood is Roger’s first feature documentary.
