In this poetic film, Anberber returns to his old mother in a hamlet on the Ethiopian upland plains. He has lost a leg, is kept awake by nightmares and shows little respect for local religious traditions. Through Anberber’s memories shown in flashbacks, this epic looks at the turbulent history of Ethiopia. Teza is this year’s winner of the Etalon D’or de Yennenga (the ‘Oscar’ of the largest Pan-African film festival in Burkina Faso).
