Iftar-meals, before the North-African movies
This year the Ramadan begins on 1 September. Africa in the Picture is offering an IFTAR meal at sunset for a special price, in combination with one of the following two films:
Fri 5 sep: The critically acclaimed contemporary Moroccan film L’OS DE FER, in which three Moroccan boys realize that not all three of them can make something of their lives and in their despair they accidently hijack a bus. The film features music by rappers from the Moroccan hip-hop scene.
Sat 6 sep: The powerful drama POUR L’AMOUR DE DIEU about the young boy Kevin who changes into a religious fanatic under the influence of a group of radical young Muslims, to the despair of his modern, liberal parents.
Fri 5 & Sat 6 sept, from 20.15 uur
