Deported African men and women tell us their stories about their unfortunate efforts to cross over to Spain. What drives these young people to risk so much in this adventure? Different voices from middle-class society - a historian, a jurist, a writer – attempt to explain the cause of this emigration from their own perspective. The film won the Dikalo Award at the Cannes Pan African Film Festival and the Grand Prix Sembène Ousmane at the Marseille Film Festival.
Kal Touré studied film at the Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français. He then made several films of different genres. During the last years, he has been concentrating on Africa, with films such as LE TEMPS L’EMPORTERA, PIÈCES À CONVICTION AFRICAINES and RENCONTRES D'AFRICAINS PHOTOGRAPHES.
