U People takes the audience behind the screen of the strange video shoot in Brooklyn of ‘Make a Move’. The extra camera that records the discussions of 30 colorful lesbian, heterosexual and transsexual women develops documentary significance. What the lens captures is a strong, confident and human voice in the discussion about gay and hetero relationships and diversity in Afro American circles. Hanifah Walidah from Brooklyn is an MC, producer and filmmaker and began as hip hop artist Sha-Key. She made the short film TRUE GRITS and contributed to the writing of WHITE LIES BLACK SHEEP.
