A magical realistic film set in war-devastated Mozambique. Muidinga finds a diary next to a body. It is the story of Farida, who lives on an old ship and is looking for her son. Muidinga is convinced that he is the lost son from the diary. Together with Tuahir, an old storyteller, he goes looking for his mother. The film is based on Mia Couto’s novel by the same name. It won the 2007 FIPRESCI best film prize in India.
