Angola/France/Portugal 2003

Ana Clara, an Angolan dancer, was 16 when the revolutionary government of the People’s Republic of Angola entrusted her with the founding of a dance school. She established the Angolan Company of Contemporary Dance, where she created her own musical language by combining classical and popular dance music. Despite the civil war that raged through her land for 27 years, the constant quality of her work has been recognized internationally.

Jorge António lived for many years in Luanda, where he produced more than 50 films in and about Angola. THE FUNERAL was distinguished as Best 1st Film at the Algarve Film Festival and António was designated as best director by MOON’S VIEW POINT at the Gramado Film Festival in Brazil.
