Une Mort de Style Coloniale – Patrice Lumumba, une Tragédie Africaine
Congo 2006

Director: Thomas Giefer
Docu, 52 min

Patrice Lumumba, the first Minister-President of the Congo, was for many a hero – the “father” who brought his country to sovereignty. For the Western powers, he was, nonetheless, a danger who could open the door to Communist control over a region full of natural resources. The president was murdered in 1960 by the Belgian secret service. The assassins reveal to us, in a shockingly open way, how they were involved in the assassination and what their role was.
Thomas Giefer made several films about political assassinations, among which
TOD IN MEMPHIS: DER RÄTSELHAFTE MORD AM MARTIN LUTHER KING.
