After 20 years of loyal service in the Angolan army, Vittorio returns to the capital Luanda. His wooden leg is a constant reminder of the sacrifice he has made for his country. He dreams of settling down with the beautiful teacher Joanna, but the war haunts Vittorio wherever he goes.
Zézé Gamboa, born in Angola, began his career as a director in 1974 at Angolan TV station TPA. He studied sound in Paris at the Néciphone. THE HERO (2003) won the best film award at the Sundance festival. His short films include BURNED BY BLUE (1999) and MY SHOES (2001).
