Oualata is a red town on the edge of the Sahara. In this oasis, three women have fun painting the walls of their homes. In a society dominated by religion, tradition and men, these women are now expressing themselves without restriction. Thanks to the intimate way through which these women confess their sexuality and desires, the film won an African documentary FNAC award and Best Documentary Award at the Real Life Documentary Festival Accra 2008.
Katy Lena Ndiaye is known as an anchorwoman for TV5 Monde and RTBF. Her first documentary was TRACES, EMPREINTES DE FEMMES, which brought her international recognition. She recently won the Upcoming Talent Award at the Afrique Taille XL Festival in Brussels for EN ATTENDENT LES HOMMES.
