An Ethiopian man marries an Ethiopian woman to help her get a residence permit for the USA in exchange for a large sum of money to fulfill his dream of opening an Ethiopian coffee house. During the 13-month naturalization period, both must learn to live with each other. Love, jealousy and colliding cultural values prove that an arranged marriage can turn out to be more complicated than it seems. A heartwarming comedy about love, coffee and the American dream.
Yehdego Abeselom was born and raised in Ethiopia. He studied at Chapman University in California, where he produced and directed a number of short films. Bridging cultural gaps is a recurring theme in his work.
