How is it possible that something happened three decades ago which we still barely dare to dream about!? In 1972, Shirley Chisholm, an African American woman from Brooklyn, showed up as an eligible presidential candidate in the US elections. This woman’s motto: White men are not the only ones who belong in politics. A beautiful documentary about the woman Don Quixote of the 1970s.
CHISHOLM ’72 is Shola Lynch’s director’s debut. She learned her trade by co-producing the Emmy Award winner DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES (2001) and the PEABODY AWARD winner FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT (1998).
