Film battle between the city regions

This summer the city regions the battle is on, to see who can make the best and most original short film. For two weeks, youth from the city regions of Oud-West, Centrum, Bos en Lommer, Slotervaart and Zuid-Oost will attend workshops by professional film makers. They will be given professional equipment and go into the street, in order to show their neighbourhood to the rest of Amsterdam. They will experience the whole process, from writing a script right through to the editing.

This year’s theme is leadership. You can see these films for yourself, online at the AT5 website and Africa in the Picture website, or at the open air performances.

The winner will be announced during the battle on Friday 5 September during an evening presented by Andrew Makkinga, who will also present The Battle, among other things.
