The glamorous story is accompanied by interviews with Mary J. Blige, Babyface, Bobby Brown, Boyz II Men and Chaka Khan. John Akomfrah was born in Ghana and went to school in the UK. He got known mainly through his work at the Black Audio Film Collective, which he co-founded. Among others, he produced Handsworth Songs (1986), Speak Like A Child (1998) and Urban Soul (2004).
