My Beautiful Smile (Mon Beau Sourire)

Detailed short on the traditional tattooing of young women’s gums. Hypnotising drums accompany the rhythmic tattooing, which at the same time it seems to soften the pain of this ritual. Angele Diabang Brener was born in Dakar, where she was trained as a director and editor. From 2003, she has worked as an editor on several films and documentaries. In 2005 she made her first short film, My Beautiful Smile. She is currently working on two documentaries.
