For four years Miché, her mother Valencia en her grandmother Amy are followed by a documentary-maker. The three generations of the Moses family live together in Cape Town’s Bonteheuwel, one of Cape Town’s most dangerous townships. As an eleven-year old, Miché smiles at the camera: the world is at her feet. But as she grows older and the family problems increase, violence and drugs make their way into Miché’s life. South African Francois Verster is a writer, musician, and cineaste. He worked in the film industries of New York and the UK. The documentary Pavement Aristocrats: The Bergies of Cape Town was his directing debut. His subsequent films, one of which is The Mother’s House, received positive reviews and prizes at festivals.
