Marrabentando – The Stories My Guitar Sings

Touching documentary in which elderly ‘marrabentistas’ from Mozambique talk about their lives. In a mix of traditional marrabento songs and contemporary rap, their stories finds their way to the younger generation. Karen Boswall, who moved from London to Maputo Mozambique and back, has been making documentaries since 1997, such as Living Battles (1998), Dancing on the Edge (2001) and the music documentary Marrabentando the stories my guitar sings (2004). Boswall plays saxophone and writes (film)music.
