A Bewitched Life

Anchored in the past, yet open to the future, » is how Monique describes her story as she travels in the Congo and discovers the bewitched aspects of her ancestral tradition. Monique Mbeka Phoba was born in Brussels. After a course at Unesco on how to make documentaries she started making films. Since 1995 she lives in Benu where she founded her own production-, distribution- and promotion company and the television- and documentary festival Lagunimages.
